Thiên Nguyễn

Thiên Nguyễn (he/him) is a rising third-year at Emory University, studying Sociology and Economics. His research interests lie at the nexus of medical sociology and the sociology of education. He is particularly interested in exploring and developing sociological theories that link educational credentials, knowledge, and experience in school to health outcomes. As a first-generation, limited-income, Vietnamese student, Thiên knows all too well how paramount it is for a diversity of thought to accompany a growing diverse population, especially here in the United States. He is dedicated to increasing the diversity of the Academy, which is why he plans to pursue his Ph.D. in Sociology after his time at Emory.
